I just bought this lens, new. Of course, it's under warranty. I has gone out ONCE. By the way, it looks great. It has no marks, no nothing, it looks completely new. But I found a 12x I want to buy, so I would like to see if someone out there wants this great lens. I could save you a couple of bucks, not that much, since I just got it, but still you save some money. The big thing is that you would not have to wait for it, it's available right now. No shipping if you are local, and I can save you the tax. I am in los angeles.

Did I mention it's a spectacular lens?

SOLD, THANK YOU.

i need to really stress how beautifully sharp this lens is, and how well the picture looks throughout. it is the nicest i have seen (except for maybe the master primes), especially at this price point. the only reason i am considering selling it is because i want to get the 24-290.

here are some photos of the lens

How much you want for it?

I paid $20,000 for it new (plus tax or shipping, you have one or the other, sometimes both)

for the latest price see post #11 on this thread.

the 16-42 is just around the corner, and it would be a nice set to have.

still available, remember, this is lightweight and, with the 16-42, you don't need anything else to cover the normal range.

Is this a manufacturer rehousing of the Optimo 15-40 with x2 internal doubler?

yes, it is a new design from Angenieux, but based on the 28-76. it is actually an improvement for digital cameras over the 28-76. it is designed for digital sensors, specifically the red's. the 16-42 will be an improved design for digital sensors of the 15-40. they are quite the pair. i know, i keep talking myself out of selling it, but i need the money. make me an reasonable offer.

a lot of interest, but no commitments, so i have lowered the price to $18,000. that's a $2,000 savings plus saving the tax where applicable. and you could not tell this lens apart from a new one, including the smell.

come on, people, this is a great-new design-lens. it is the best you can find for the red. there has to be someone out there that could use it!!

one month before THIS nab is not an ideal time to buy a lens. Although yours is a great lens, lots of people at this point are waiting for the glass at NAB, as there is some new things coming......

you are right, there are. but only primes, not zooms, as my sources tell me. this Rouge is a brand new lens from angenieux (by the way, specifically designed for the RED, not like the cooke red set, which is just a re-badge).

Angenieux will be showing the sister lens to this one, the 16-42.

also, there is a highly respected manufacturer coming out with a set of primes, but they are not going to be cheap, upwards of 40k is what i have heard. and, even if you have primes, it's always good to have a zoom too.

my situation is that i bought two brand new lenses from different manufacturers: a century 17-35 and the rouge 30-80. i need to sell one or the other. because the rouge is a brand new design and there is a bit of a wait on it, i thought it would be easier to sell that one. but if someone wants to buy my 17-35 (brand spanking new from Century/Schneider) for a $2,000 discount from their original price, i keep the 30-80 and wait for the 16-42. if they buy the 30-80 i buy a 40, 65 and 100 ultraprime. i am letting destiny choose which way i go...

ok, i had not heard that. i look forward to seeing more about it.
