Good day . I did not send my MiniXLR to XLR cable to update with
Camera , and now i am interesting what was different in old cables and now new Mini-XLR
Cable + mini-XLR to XLR adaptor ?
We record sound in camera , sow i am good in Red Sound world .
Many Thanks.

As far as cable wiring standards there should be no difference. XLR mic cables, mini or otherwise should conform to the AES/IEC standard: Pin 1 shield, pin 2+ Hot, pin 3- cold.

Thansk , but why Red is asking to change cables ?

The mini-XLR to XLR cable includes some padding resistors in the shell of the XLR connector.

When you use a Rev 2 audio board, those resistors are no longer needed.

This is why you should use the mini-XLR to mini-XLR cable plus mini-XLR to XLR adaptor.

Or if you are making your own cables, just make them without any internal padding resistors.

Ahh beat me to the punch.

The M.A.T. Board on our RIP KIT is designed to accommodate both the original RED One audio board & the New audio board upgrade. Switches on the board allow the user to turn on/off the resistor path, allowing the system to be swapped between cameras regardless of Audio board status.
