Hi,

There are many reasons why your conform doesn't look right. Too many to address on this forum. But here are a few things to check...

1) All video must be on the same track (V1)
2) When you export the CMX 3600 edl, "preread" should be selected
3) In SCRATCH, make sure the "links" are set correctly...Reel ID, Time code, etc.
4) Export a quicktime reference movie to compare the edl against.

good luck!

I just had the same issues edited in FCP generated an edl, input into a scratch system and the r3d files are out in places. I've been told this may be because we shot 4k in 24p on the REd camera, then edited the 1k proxies in FCP within a 29.97 timeframe. The edits look great and I was under the impression that if the proxies and QT reference movie looked right, there's absolutely no reason why the r3d files shouldn't have lined up properly. Any bright ideas?

Convert your EDL from 29.97 to 23.98 via cinema tools. You'll probably need to do some eye matching, but otherwise you should be OK.

JD,

No need - SCRATCH can do the framerate conversion in the EDL Assembler.

Of course, if you're more comfortable with Cinema Tools, go for it. : ) Just pointing out that it can be done on the SCRATCH side as well.
