For couple of weeks, I'm receiving 10 calls a day enquiring rental package of SI2K camera in India after success of Slum Dog Millionaire. I'm redirecting people to try out Red One.

We need a smash hit like SDM for Red One.

Expecting Knowing to be the one...

Digital Cinema rocks after the successful nomination of 2 feature films in Oscar 2009 for Cinematography, The Curious Case of Benjamin Button (Viper) and Slum Dog Millionaire (SI2K).

Tell them to watch CHE. And just say it's used by Peter Jackson and Steven Soderburgh.

Well, these two cameras are substantially different from each other and SI-2K doe have some great advantages in some cases over RED.

Peter Jackson and Steve should go and shoot a film in India ... In fact Knowing is also shot on RED :)

I heard in an interview it was 70% SI and 30% 35mm.

"Dod Mantle estimates that about 60
percent of the movie was ultimately
captured digitally, but he emphasizes
that working with film had
benefits that went beyond aesthetics."

Hi gbalaji,

don't bet on smash hits. We supplied Slum Dog Millionaire with four SI2K units and don't get as many calls on SI2K as we do on RED ONE. As long as there is no Scarlett, SI2K is the only alternative.
