Ports

We have 2 cameras and the ports are completely different in feel. The one we have in the one hundreds is nice and smooth, the one we have in the three hundreds grates and feel nasty. Has anyone else noticed this variation? Can we get them changed?

Which ports are you talking about? There's lots on the camera. I notice you are "lost in Sweden" so maybe it's just a translation issue in the word port?

I guess you could call other parts of the camera ports, but I was referring to the lens port.

I'm English, hence "Lost" in Sweden. I tried to find out the Swedish word for it was, but no one here knew

There's a new design locking ring that came out recently - is that what you mean? Maybe the other camera has the older design? See the difference on this thread:

No, neither are that model. They are both the same in appearance, and the older one feels much nicer.

Could just be that the PL mount needs to be serviced / lubed.

Maybe there's grit in one, or the little cam hex screw isn't properly lined up, or it's scraping the side of one of the PL mount surfaces.

You can take the front part of the PL mount off quite easily (8 hex bolts) and check all this if needed:
