  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

New Red Dwarf Special using RED ONE

Thanks Gravy i was wondering for a sec if i was right about which camera it was.: )

More Red Dwarf - great news!

This is fantastic news. Red Dwarf has only ever been shot on low quality digital tape (I believe series 7 & 8 were "filmized"). I'm not sure I trust Dave to return the show to it's former glory, but it's at least going to look lovely.

Its former glory would be series 1-4...5-6 I do really love...7-8...Sigh!!!

But can't wait for the special!

Looking forwards to it!

I Love Red Dwarf! The movie got hung up for a while, so long in fact I had thought it wasn't even going to be made, but this is awesome news! At least something is happening with the series again and it is such a great series. Will be keeping an eye for the new stuff.

Nice!!!!

Completely forgot about the being "Shot on Red" after the first 10 seconds [always a good thing]. Look fantastic!! Colours were like velvet and effects integration was really nice as well. The story wasn't half bad (much better than series 8). The sharpness of the image didn't really help with the age of the characters now though.

All in all...Wicked!!!!

Can wait to see this. Mike Seymour gets a great namecheck here: http://dave.uktv.co.uk/video/red-dwarf/exclusive-interview-doug-naylor-red-carpet/

Graeme

Nice!! A load of fans hopping half way around the world to work on a three part series. Smegging Brilliant!

They are using some of the RED Dwarf effects workflow available on FXphd for members to learn post packages and workflow. Mike Seymour is the 'Professor' on it.

Loved it. I can't wait till the next episode.

I particularily liked the way they handled the giant squid incident...it had the low budget latex mixed with CG, mixed with stock footage...but shooting most of it through the window whilst the Cat is 'oblivious' to it all...FANTASTIC!!!

EDIT: Sorry Graeme...didn't give away any twists I promise...

episode 3 on sunday night rocks!!!! ....1 and 2 are all about setting up everything So if you like 1 it just gets better (although the diving bell scene is classic)

Exactly...reminds me of a giant 'Snake' scenario...or a Polymorp!!!!

Can't wait.
