Does anybody know where to get a price list for the Ultra Prime lenses from Arri? They have a catalog on their website, but they managed to leave the one thing I need to know..... the prices.

Ultra Primes are about $12,000-$20,000 per lens. Master Primes about $20,000-$30,000 per lens. The short zoom is about $50,000.

I have a link to their brochure for 2006. It can be found on the web for those who look hard enough but I'd be more than happy enough to PM anyone the link. I'm not making it public just because I don't want to feel the wrath of Arri! (ie, not sure if its aoppropriate)

PS.

Master Primes with LDS = 13,500 (35mm) euros and reaching 17,100 euros for a 100mm. Most are around 14,500 euros

Ultra Primes with LDS = 10,600 (50mm) euros - 16,900 (12mm)
Ultra Primes (minus LDS) = 7,810 (32mm, 40mm, 50mm) euros - 19,950 (8mm)

Also have prices on all of their equipment, MBs, FFs, etc etc

EDIT: For prices in dollars, Arri always says in the UK add 20%, but if you do the exchange rate from euros to dollars, it works out as roughly correct prices.

Note that prices today are about 6% higher than the ones in this document.

Thanks to everybody that replied. Would anyone know where to get Metric Tape Measure in US?..... I'm thinking of going with Metric scale lenses, seeing as how the US is the only one left using feet, and I don't see that lasting to much longer into the future.

The fact they're planning to build an intercontinental highway, meaning everything on that highway would be in metric. Since every country on the planet other than the US uses metric.

I think you are dreaming if you think the US is going metric in our life time. They already tried, and it didn't take. But if you want to go that way, buy a Hilti or a Disto, they will switch back and forth.

The USA will never drop Inches
and in the UK they'll always drives in the wrong side of the road!! :)

Metric or feet ultra primes?

Metric or feet ultra primes?

Of course living in the UK we have miles when you are on the roads, but meters and centimeters for measuring!! Oh yes - in some industries we use feet and inches as well.

So we use Ultras and Masterprimes in both metric and feet.

Canada has been metric since the seventies. All street signs in KM's. All temperatures in Celsius. All lenses are still imperial - except for focal lengths of course.

Which is another indication that Imperial measurement will be around for a while in North America - That the lenses are commonly referred to by their metric focal lengths, yet the focus measurements are imperial. Tough to shake old habits.

Right NOW - you can actually do much better than that - contact Steve Cohen at AbelCineTech

Yes, but don't you want the cool factor of saying, that set of lenses cost over $120k!;)

Considering someone was offering a set of new Ultra primes for like $61k on here a week or two ago, I'd say prices are really good right now. Wish I had $100k so I could get a good deal on master primes right now...sigh..
