Cinematography of Anthony Dot Mantle, BSC, DFF in Slumdog Millionaire wins BAFTA.

Also Danny Boyle has been named best director and Slumdog Millionaire is BAFTA film of the year.

Congratulations.

I proud to have the same mount IMS (for RED1) as Anthony Dot Mantle was using with SI-2K.

RED Team should again think about to finally officially certify IMS for RED1 mount.

Personally I found the SI2K to be a bit on the soft side in projection. The movie is amazing and I think the aesthetic worked for the piece but there were some especially noisy and distracting night scenes. I really do feel a properly kitted Red could have accomplished this with better image quality. It would have been cleaner which may not have been the intention but it could have been done.

Again I think it's the best movie of the year either way though.

I think the si-2k was chosen as much for its form factor as it was it's image.

They could have chosen HVX200 (like in Cloverfield) or HF10 (Crank 2: High Voltage) if 'form factor' is considered important. They don't have to go through hassle of replacing dry ice in the mini's (laptop) rig every 1 hour or so. i do think they chosen it for the form factor AND image quality.
