Sorry for the double post, but I now have pictures so this should make this thread a bit easier to understand and more straight forward.

Alight so like I said before I have access to a TON of old broadcast equipment (photos below). I found 3 different lenses that so far to the naked eye seem to be in great condition.I would like to know the potential of them working with a 2/3" Scarlet, as well as the pros and cons to possibly using them.

First Lens:
Canon Macro TV Zoom Lens
VCL-713BX
YH13x7.5, 7.5-97.5mm 1:1.4

Second Lens:
Fujinon-TV Zoom Lens
LYNX2 18x

1:1.7/8.5-153mm

Third Lens:
Fujinon-TV Z

ERM-48

(This thing is HUGE!)

Also for anyone who might like to see here are 2 pictures of the Semi Trailer, the second one has a the camera where the 3rd lens came off of, it is seriously 50+ lbs!

If anyone could shed some light on this issue for me it would be greatly appreciated. I understand a scarlet is going to be cutting edge technology and prehistoric lenses will probably be a waste of time, but it is worth a shot. They are free so...

Thanks in advance,

From the looks of the mounts :
First lens - Sony 1/2" mount or Sony 325(same thing) so this is a 1/2" format lens- not enough coverage.
Second lens Has Ikegami B3 mount- 2/3" format-right coverage.
There are adapters to B4 available(Kish Optics and others)
Third lens is a B4 mounted 2/3" inch mount- industry standard- right coverage.
I hope that helps, Jacek Zakowicz, OptiTek.org:construction:

Thank you so much, any idea how the final product will look, or does that mainly rely on the lenses condition itself.

I'm not going to get into technical blabber why it won't work- there is enough wise a**s on this board to do that:wink: - I'm sure they'll chime in soon enough.
I would get a hold of a Red with B4 mount and shoot some tests., apparently NFL film are using ENG lenses on their film cameras and are pretty happy....

I would expect the image to be soft, especially in the corners, and have not great contrast. You're almost certainly looking at ramping and heavy vignetting at the long end.

Master Primes, these ain't, but personally I sometimes love shooting with old glass (I keep an old tube cam similar in appearance to the last pic you posted with an ancient lens just because I love it so much).

Yeah I figured the image wouldn't be great, like I said I got them out of an old semi truck trailer for free, I honestly don't think anyone has been in there for at least a decade.

Not to mention I tend to put a vignette on most of my footage in post depending on the project. It might work just fine for certain instances!

I plan on buying a good new high quality lens for my primary shooting.
