While I think some guys might give you some help on how stabilizing the support, I don't think a video shot with glidecam would be different than something shot with a steadycam or some other trademarks.

What are your problems with stabilization and balance? They're probably not unique to a RED/Glidecam V25 setup.

Hey Vigen, your post reminds me of my first time using a glidecam system. We were out in San Diego shooting with a few Sony FX1's for three different spots. I was not impressed with our glidecam footage, for the same reason you're probably not that impressed with yours. Bounced and was not that steady afterall. For our shoot, it turned out the operator wasn't that experienced and thus couldn't get the glidecam to do what it's designed to do, create an absolutely steady shot. I'm confident with more practice, you guys should be able to get perfectly steady shots. We made use of the footage and most of the time, sped it up (luckily it was to music), and it worked out fine.

Best of luck
J

steady systems ain't easy to operate: I remember the first time I rented a Steady JR and, after a couple of hours of struggle, we eventually let it in our van as we had no clue about how to stabilize the damn thing - at the moment I am looking forward to get a Glidecam kit for my EX1, as it seems slightly more easy to set than the Steady Jr, yet I've been told by many guys it ain't a very immediate affair anyways.

Good luck man - hoping to see some footage soon from you.

Want to share my first test after normal balancing .Problem that i have now , is that i need Downconverter for GlideCam Monitor .
With Red LCD you are very limited in monitor position .Because of cable.

First Stable shoot :) http://vimeo.com/3027092

that's very smooth man (albeit a tad too short!) - what lens did you use?

Longer Red LCD/EVF Cables

Red Store sells 6-foot and 10-foot LCD and EVF cables? Why can't you use one of those to use the Red LCD with your GlideCam?

I was thinking about it . But problem is that you need to put cable in Tube inside ,
but there is no space for it , and also if i will put cable in Tube with 10 foot cable i will be
limited in extending of tube . Glide Cam monitor is better in day
light and also angel of view is better on Glide Cam monitor .
+ i need to do any Wireless signal from glidecam to director , sow if
i will stay on HD , solution will be very expensive .

So the GlideCam V-25 even though only rated for 10-25 pounds is capable of flying a Red One? How heavy is your camera configuration?

I have configured V-25 with Red one, Bartech, Prime lens, clip-on matte-box. I made a cable to power the Red off of the top of the V-25 Sled from the batteries at the bottom of the sled. With this configuration, you could slide the monitor mount higher up and mount the Red LCD on it and the cable will reach. You are not maxing out the unit but not much more weight to work with.

It is my configuration at this moment . Monitor is slide higher , but cable is killing me .
Because of cable i can not rotate glide cam for 360 vertical .Sow i am limited with Red LCD cable.
But it is ok ,you can shoot .
ALso problem is that glide cam hand is covering view of LCD , if you put monitor higher.
