Check out the Avery zweckform L6009 labels. They should be pretty sturdy!

I've been trying to come up with a way of labeling cables and was thinking of using ‘clear heatshrink’ to hold/cover a paper label (wrapped around the cable). What do you think? Anyone tried this?

Or perhaps better still, just came across this, a company that prints onto heatshrink:

I second Maverick Label.

They are really good.

I learned the hard way though that these suckers are tough to get off. When I went to sell a piece of gear, it took a lot of effort to get it removed and then cleaned up.

But I'd rather that than no security and inventory labeling.
