Hi Guys...I am selling some stuff to pay off the loan on my RED. This is a really great, light weight, very small lens if you're looking for more on the long end than the RED 18-50mm. Very similar in range to the up-coming Angenieux Rouge. It is a factory PL mount and it has an 80mm front. As you can see it is in very nice shape, having just had a complete tune up at Duclos Lenses a few months ago. I haven't used it much as Paul (Duclos) put together a Cooke 9-50 with a dedicated 2x extender for my 35mm hand held work. Email me at Larry-at-velocity-dot-tv if you are interested and I can send you more pictures. I am looking to get $4000 to $5000 for it as the price for a new one is over 10K.

These are pretty rare.

Thanks a lot

Some body should snap this up. Great little lens. They were used on Gladiator with the AATON 35 for a lot of the fight sequences. They are really sharp.

Good luck with the sale, I'd buy it if I didn't already have one.

Is the glass made in Russia?

Do you have a collar to mount up a heden motor?

Looks like the focus barrel turns with the front element so if I were to get a clip on shade with a pola then pull focus that would rotate the filter right?

Not on this one- I made this internal focusing conversion for Keslow Camera few years back. Used on the last season of Baywatch Hawaii

Yes this is a Russian built lens. I bought it from the importer before Slow Motion, Inc. (Burbank, CA) became a dealer.

I do have the Heden Motor bracket, and I will include it with the lens. I will take a picture of it shortly and put it up on Red User.

Yes the front element does rotate as you focus. A Pola would have to be re-set after focusing (or use a Matte Box). I use a lightweight support (Like Doug's -Long Valley Equipment) holding a small matte box.

Thanks a lot

Hi Jacek. I remember you showing me one of those that you modified when you were at Keslow. Very nice modification. I was thinking about getting you to do one on mine, but ended up not using the lens enough to warrent the expense. Extremely nice machine work and overall very well made as I remember.

Thanks

OK...I just got a bit of an education on the market value of these lenses from another RedUser who has one. He said that the actual price for new ones are much higher than I said in my original post. he and I are doing some research now as he is thinking about selling his also. Until I can fairly state what used ones are worth, I am taking this lens off of the market. I'm sorry to be indecisive here but I need to get what it is worth (for me), and not undercut the existing market. I've found out that there are a bunch of guys on RedUser who own this lens.

Hope you understand.
