So Cinevate have finally released their follow focus, called Durus. I know Dennis Wood has put a lot of time and work into this,so I'd say there's a chance it might be good. $894.19 including three lens gear rings. Link

It's 15mm for now, but there will apparently be a 19mm option in the next production run.

Any thoughts from the native focus pullers?

he should sell a version without the lens gears for the red crowd.

Yes, on the other hand, I guess a good portion of the red users looking for a $900 FF unit are also likely to be using SLR lenses?

I have been not impressed at the quality of his other products.

The Brevis adapter served me well, but I agree the build quality is not top notch.

But maybe the FF is Cinevate's equivalent to the Redrock mattebox?

Nils, our native 19mm version of the FF is now available as are our 19mm clamps for those already owning our FF. Also, the little clip linked to above has been complemented with a two part video series on the Durus FF system which offers a comprehensive overview. We've been relatively quite about this FF unit basically because the demand for them amounts to a 2-3 week lead time. Once this number reaches 1-2 days, then you'll hear a lot more about it. FreshDV has one, loves it, and I'm guessing will have their review up shortly to add to the collection.

Cinevate has expanded over Christmas to a staff of eight in a renovated 4000 sq/ft space. It's not the same company, and neither are our products. Case in point, the Duru FF carries a lifetime warranty. We're at NAB this year at C4782...come visit :-)

Cheers,

Dennis, I like your on-screen persona :)
