  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

high end red one rental

OMG! I just read all of this stuff. Geez some of you people are bitter! I didn't think anyone was offering a red for rent for the amount of the payment (much cheaper than other rentals houses) so I was just trying to be nice to all of the people that just wanted to use a camera for a month without taking on a 24 month obligation. You know, the whole reason there are equipment rental businesses in the first place. So while all of you bitter folks make nasty posts, I go on with my business making a profit.

Good luck with your attitudes, I haven't seen it work in 25 years, but maybe this year I will be wrong.

For the others that were honestly trying to help me market my camera, I thank you.

Maybe I am unique in that my camera can sit in the corner of my office an gather dust and it won't affect me financially. I was just saying, "hey, I have a stand alone setup that is basically brand new and I can offer to rent it here since I used to think of reduser as a friendly collaborative community.". I had the exact same deal with a Digibeta years ago. I rented it out to people that would make the payment, but due to future uncertainties they did not want the longterm payment obligation. I made money, and they got a cheap short term lease. Pretty simple to me.

then I guess you guys don't try to rent cameras? You just bought them to put in your closet? Are you telling me that if you don't rent your equipment, that you can afford it? This post makes no sense.

that is simple, because they only want to make ONE payment and not 24. Get it?

Using your logic. Why would ANYONE EVER RENT ANYTHING???

Totally... but you did delete your original post and replace it with a new one. You obviously agree with us about your original post having that same tone that doesn't get work.

Good luck with it, hope you get some rentals.

Good looking setup. :)

So why would you deny a sale to an amateur?

Just so you know, no one is going to pay more than the market value for a RED rental. A standard RED package is between $800-1000/day.

If you're not in this price range, they'll simply look to one of the other 500 REDs for rent in the L.A. area.

ok, I guess it does look a bit like it, probably thought that cause of the blue knobs... actually he did say it was an Arri too, right?

what about the FF?

Just offering a suggestion.

A "High End RED" should include the following Element Technica accessories:

(Consider a Mantis. Seriously.)
EVF Mount
Break Out Box
Shock Mount x 3 with V-Lock Mount
Top Cheeseplate
Rain Cover (when avail)

Optional ET Acc:
ARRI Baseplate
EVF Extension
Cheesestick

I did not see in the pic - Viewfactor:

Origo

And high end support (sticks/head). [And by high end I mean O'Connor.] Or are they (support gear) not a part of the rental package?
Can I assume you have the whole FF4 package?

Good for you for being able to provide a rental package for others while they pay your bill. That is the goal of a rental house. And of the landlords that get rent checks every month. I believe those too pay the mortgage and a profit....

I really think all of you should lay off this guy.
Think what you like about this guy, and the way he posts, but it's completely f*&^ing rude for people to start commenting just about every time someone posts something for rent or sale.
Some community.

In my opinion, if it's possible, Classified advertisement threads on Reduser should be different to other threads in that only the original poster should be able to continue posting ( for updates).

People can work out what's a good deal or not.

I'm assuming the leather seats in your photo is included with this high end rental?
All the best,
Mickey

next time dont change your original post. of course my post makes no sense now...

it DID when your original post was up

I changed my original post because it generated such a negative response. IT WAS NOT NEGATIVE!. I was intending it to be a compliment to the users of this forum. meaning, I was only posting here and not to the industry in general. I figured that there would be an experienced user that would be interested in renting the camera for cheap and take good care of it. The setup is like a brand new setup.

Thank you to the people that came to my defense. I didn't mean anything snobby by my original post, but just like everything in life, if you are looking for something bad, you will find it. Since times are tough for a lot of folks right now, I believe some of you found the bad that you were looking for (even though it wasn't there).

Lastly, for the folks that are serious about renting the cam, feel free to PM me and I will gladly provide you with a complete list. It will probably be gone soon, so hurry if you are interested.

nice crib!

those big windows give you a lot of natural light.
