I dropped a clip in FCP today and it was green in the timeline. PLayed in the viewer window. It's a long clip that's broken up into several R3d files. Im sure someone has a workaround to fix this, but I can't find it.

Thanks!

REALLY? nO replies?

Hard to believe I'm the only one who's experienced this issue?

I actually had one occurence of this when filming for an hour on saturday, I thought I could have dropped frames and not noticed - but when I think about it is highly unlikely.

I didn´t mind so much upon noticing it, since I will only use some small parts of the material and the green frames doesn´t affect it.

but reading this post, made me think twice, when I have an extra hour I will go back and look closely at the footage, and check it out in redcine.

I have had green frames before, but then I definetly dropped frames and thought that was the reason, back then it was a rock concert with four REDs so whenever it occurs I simply cut to one of the other cams...

Would be very boring if it happened to some cruicial material though...

I have also experienced this with longer takes. I assume you are using proxies? Try one of two things:

1. Go to the clip's motion tab and give it an edge feather of .01. This will force an orange render, and depending on your machine, may allow you to view the footage (but honestly, this probably won't work).

2. Use the log and transfer work flow instead. If I'm wrong about you using proxies, then sorry, I don't have any other suggestions.

Have you tried re-making the quicktimes in redalert ?
