Hello,
first: sorry about my bad english.

At this time im working with 2 Canon XHA1 and a beamsplitter to produce stereoscopic footage.

So i´m very interested for the scarlet and the 3D-RIG.

But my question is if anybody knows if i´m needing optional hardware for stereoscopic productions with the scarlet?

How i can sync both cams? The 3D-rendering (360° turnaround quicktime) i´ve seen in internet shows me only two scarlets with a REDmote and the REDhandle.
Is that right that i need only these two items together with 2 scarlets for building a basic stereosystem? (without a preview monitor or 2 EFV)?

And anybody knows the prices for REDmote and REDhandle?

Thanks for help.

Martin

Prices are not known till now.

As far as I know you need two Scarlet, a 3D Baseplate (to arrange the angles of the Cams) and maybe two Bomb Viewfinder. You need the last ones to check the 3d of your Footage.

As the Scarlets are able to communicate I hope Red will provide a Firmwaresetting to Sync two Scarlets (would also be good in multi-angle-shots)

Hi
the oldest trick can sync 2 cameras, use a SLATE!
it can also use a flash a extra assurance.

it comes to a technical issue, as 2 cameras might have slight differences say - 24 FPS at both cameras and u probably have max. half frame difference, say camera A runs first, and camera B runs later but the frame somehow will be maximum 1/2 frame differences. if u use a slower shutter speed should not be a problem.

rest is labelling, as u must separate the files to LEFT/RIGHT
it's logistic nitemare.

have fun
