  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

$6 Million Home Theater?

Been a long time since I took acoustics classes, but looking at this monstrosity I can tell you there is no way it works well. There is not one soft or diffraction surface in sight. I'm sure Lucas would laugh himself silly at the notion of spending an absurd amount of money on that.

a waste..

Yeah that is just total overkill/gear masturbation and it looks like hell. I'd be afraid of tripping over something on the way for the door if I didn't go deaf from the first movie. For 1/50th the price any decent home theater designer could give you something that looked and sounded just as good if not better.

Also the guy is stoned if he thinks people like George Lucas would buy his services. I've seen Lucas' personal screening room at Skywalker Ranch. It's a classy, understated little affair that gets the job done just fine and costs nowhere near this monstrosity.

What's so funny about that? I don't even think I would have 6 friends to fill the seats with. Hell I'm skeptical I could get 1 friend over to fill it.

Yeah, I mean, 6 million for a theater only suitable for 6 people is a funny notion to me. And I agree, it's totally overkill.

It's unbelievable that one could spend that much money for something that in most situations really doesn't outperform set up at a small fraction of that cost. I don't think I could even enjoy a movie in there, what with all the gadgets and shiny objects all over the place. A home theater should try to hide everything BUT the screen..otherwise it defeats the purpose of watching a movie in the first place.

Ahaha not to mention he's the OWNER of THX...I think they might have a little knowledge in the field of home theater? Maybe?

Every time that thing floats back up to thte top of the interweb, I want to barf.

I think this is a great example of how some people just have to much money to waste.

I wonder what an 11000 lumen projected picture looks like on a screen that small. I'd think the black level would be way up.

Not to mention you'd need some serious sunglasses to avoid going blind.
