Does anyone here know how much is Scratch?

Assimilate does much of the work in creating Redcine. This is also why Redcine's feature set will never really compete with Scratch for conforming R3D.

It's not ludicrous if you're a professional facility (or user) who needs professional tools that have professional support in an industry that just isn't that large. You also don't seem to have any idea what tools that do what Scratch does - i.e., its competitors - cost. The world of professional tools is very, very different than the world of desktop software. The capabilities are different, the feature list is different, the formats supported are different, the expected update schedule is different, the expected level of reliability is different, and the level of support is very different (which is why most professional software, including Scratch, also requires a maintenance and support contract, which is paid each year). Just because something doesn't involve hardware doesn't mean it does not take many, many man-years to develop and maintain. Software companies are just as entitled as hardware companies to make a profit on their products.

Scratch is, by a large margin, the least expesive software of all its competitors - Baselight, Filmmaster, DaVinci Resolve, Pablo, etc...
