This is all way to preemptive, but I can not resist.

So, I am looking at the mini primes and the fixed lens for the 2/3" Scarlet.

There are two things that I would humbly submit for consideration (which may in fact already have been considered):

Make sure the mini primes can work with a follow focus of some kind.

Make the zoom used in the fixed lens Scarlet a stand alone lens as well. As in add it to the line up of 2/3" lenses for the non-fixed package.

That's my wish for the day.

Amen brother. I would add that the primes would serve better as a matched set. Matching T-stops in other words, even if that means they would be a tad slower overall.

My fingers have been crossed for nearly five months (they are getting painful and hard to type!!) that the zoom will be released as a separate lens. From my logic it makes sense, as the more they sell, the cheaper they would be able to make the fixed scarlet. But my logic is an uneducated guess.

I would be in heaven with the zoom and a set of primes.

Hmm i was thinking the same idea. I'd love to also have that lense along with the primes. Can someone give me an educated guess at roughly how much 3 of the best primes may cost, or if they would all be the same price, how much per lense. Im not well educated when it comes to lenses

The Sony EX1 and EX3 have the same zoom lens, one fixed and the other removeable. If it designed this way from the start then it is not an issue.

Exactly.

Not trying to be pushy, just think it is a swank idea.

True, very true. I dont think red will make 2/3 users buy an alternative zoom lense i think they will release one to make things easier.

I'm excited to see people put them on S16 cameras too

Perhaps, but I'm under the impression that the RED mini primes will use their own custom smaller RED Mount. So any mounting to a S16 camera would require a mount adapter at the very least and possibly even a proper RED mount for that camera.

I really interested to adapt these mini primes to not only my future skarlets but other cameras as well, I would think RED would like to design their glass to have an appeal outside the reduser market.

To reply to marks request...I noticed pstechnic has gear for mini glass and the glass itself, anyone used these?
