Can anybody recommend a good tutorial for workflow solutions using Final Cut Pro. So far I have read the White Paper that comes with the FCP R3D support and that has not worked so well for me.

Thanks

I'm afraid there's not much more than the whitepaper. Where do you get stuck?

My problem is getting my footage to show up at the Log and Transfer stage. I have installed the FCP upgrade for using R3D footage, but I still cannot get the files to show up.

Firstly you have to update to FCP 6.05 and other upgrades as given in the whitepaper

Are you getting the footage from your camera drive or downloaded from Redrelay for testing purpose:

If it is from camera then you have to copy the whole directory structure to your machine drive..coping only the RAW file will not work

And if you have downloaded from redrelay for checking then you have to make a directory structure as we can see in a pic in whitepaper.

I hope it hepls

REDAlert can help you with this, making the QT-proxies.

One more thing: recently a few of us have encountered seemingly black images out of the Red One. If you just open such a R3D in REDAlert, set it's values to default and make new QTs, the image shows up again.
