Has anyone, and I know some do, has an experience with the NexTo eXtreme ND-2700.
Can you back on it both the digital content from the CF cards and the Red Raid Hard Drive?
Is it fast? Reliable? Has anyone found a better one?
Thanks

gdv, We've been using a Nexto Extreme 2700 for a few months now and find it to be excellent - Very fast and very reliable. However we are only using it for CF cards in that we do not have a Red Raid HD.

I think back to all the times I should of had such a contraption but didn't...

What accessories or chargers or whatever are needed for these devices?

Tom, no accessories needed really... comes with a charger and a nice case. I've never run out of charge during a day because, really, it is hardly ever on. It copies or moves the contents of your card (your choice) and then turns itself off when it it is finished downloading, verifying, and deleting (if that's the mode you requested).

I really like it. I think of all the time I've spent firing up a laptop just to download a card - not to mention lugging the laptop around.

(I don't mean at the same time)

I have found you really want the extra battery and car charger. After four or five GB backups, it runs out of juice with the internal battery. This is with a backup and verify.

:waaa: Geez. I was wanting to dump 10 or 20 gigs at a time on that sucker while backpacking or working in remote spots. so it's going to need external power, huh? i guess i could run it off a 12v portable source with a voltage converter to 3.7v?

Yes, they are.

USB faster - is that right?

Yes, you can even backup the RED Drive but with USB.

Does the Nexto Extreme power the RedDrive?

I really like to know. My trusty Nextos2525 don't do that. Great devices and
a must for every one on remote locations.

Does anyone know how to switch off that beep after copying?

Any help much appreciated.

Hans

is that correct that the nexto cannot even back up single 8GB card without the battery failing?
