On set the other day. About to shoot the first shot when I kept on getting codec errors ever time I hit record. Happened over 20 times. Dont know why. I reformatted the drive and it began working again. Thoughout the day got more errors. Any idea what this might be from please let me know.

Have you sent the Log files to Red?

That's the best way to troubleshoot this.

You need to unmount the media from the camera for it to generate those files.

Cool thanks. And Yes B17. Where are the log files in the drive? Never retrieved them before.

Very unlikely to be related to Build 17, however the LOG files are no longer written when you UNMOUNT the media, instead go to SYSTEM / SETUP and press WRITE LOG. Wait ten seconds, then unmount the media and look for a file ending in .LOG, send that to RED technical support group.

With the drive mounted on the camera, use the unmount keystrokes exit - undo. This will create the Log files on your drive and you can send these to Red support. There is information in those log files that can give them clues to a problem if it's there.

Oops, yeah Build 17. Sorry about that. Must clear brain of old methods.
