Hi there
Apparently, when shooting 24p, you have lo live with heavy strobing effects.
Is there any treatment you can apply in post to remove it ?. I´ve read about some deconvolution process, but don´t know if it is implemented in FCP. The weird thing is, the flickering is there in the monitor during shooting, but is also in my MAC, right there in the proxys. However, I´ve made some tests, and, even though it doesn´t dissapear, is reduced considerably after rendering / exporting. Don´t understand why.
Thanks for your help

If you are doing film out then strobe effect won't be so much problem because the projectors at theaters has 1/48 shutter to make thing smoother. I finally watched the test film out of what we did the other day, it was beautiful!

If you are mastering as Video, then some people might oppose to my suggestion, but convert it as 29.97, insert pulldown will make it look little smoother.

Native 23.976 on video system will suffer with strobe effects on fast panning or fast moving objects no matter what. 23.976 works good only with film projected in my opinion. The motion flow technology by companies like Sony on the LCD TVs will make the strobe effects look better, but when things gets too fast then it will make it look worse. However, I'm convinced that in the near future, motion flow would work like the shutter on the projector, making the 23.976 viewing look smooth even on video system.

So, for now, shoot like a film cam, don't shoot like 60i video camera.
If you are more like videographer then shoot in 3K 60p maybe.

LG-Philips seems to be looking into similar technologies like film projection (but faster): 480 cycles with dark phases, not flow motion. Seems interesting…
Prototypes were shown at CES 09, might be ready for market in 2010.

Uli,

That sounds better :).

You can also try a 73Hz refresh rate on your monitor if it supports it.
