Here is the final version of the music video, some of you may recall I posted a link to a "Lost" Promo a few month back, well here is the whole video.

i am proud to say that 8 of my shots (b cam) made it into the cut...including the timelapse.

Red was kind enough to let us use a solid state drive on this one for the helicopter shots.

this is also the theme song for this season of lost, so i am told it will be playing over and over again during the season...

another great part of this video (which you can point out to your clients) is that some of those helicopter shots were zoomed into and used as closeups without any degradation...a huge benefit to using this format.

please watch in high quality...

that's a world-class video.

nice timelapse, too.

Love the CC, specially at night!!!! Very Well!!!

Looks great. Well lit. Very colorful. Focus on Lead Singer could have been better. Perhaps localized sharpening on his face in post could help. Nice work on the camera moves, insert shots and overhead stuff.

This really makes the RED look good. People need to realize though that focus is a matter of the skill of the focus puller and not some limitation of digital vs. film.

great video. really liked the song. images did well to fit it. wondering how many days this shoot was. 2?

two fun filled nights 5pm calltimes

yup, every last frame.

Nice vid! same for the song. Gorgeous lighting for the band and spectacular color throughout. The color really popped hard but not overdone, tastefully done.

My favorite shot oddly enough was the bus shot when the sun comes up... those are some pretty bus seats hehe... I've seen the buildings looking spectacular, never saw a bus look so rad :)

forgot to post some prod stills (taken with a treo)...enjoy...

seriously?

Really? How could you tell? By watching the video in "high res" on youtube?
Maybe you don't know who Shawn Kim is, but I would assume that if the shots were out of focus they were probably intentional. Maybe you should give Shawn a call and let him know that focus is "a matter of skill." please.

You know I think it is that it reminded me of going home after the sun came up in Bs As, after clubbing and before I was done with high school... lol, good times

That video was great! I love it when my home town looks so good, and when it's on RED, Chi-Town looks even better!

Can you give us any idea about the workflow? or especially color correction software used? Apple Color or Scratct or?

shoot red to red raid and red ram.

off load footage from drives to 4 gtech graid2 1 tb drives.

create pro-res downconvert on set (cant remember what flavor, it was 5 months ago).

from there i am not sure how they finished, but i certainly can find out.

btw one of my favorite Dp's, Yon Thomas, works a lot in Turkey...hope you get a chance to meet him.

Mind-boggling attention to detail...The progressive structure really sweeps you into it like a rip-tide, then spits you out on the other end.

DogDay.

cosmos3d,

it will be really great if you can find how they finished and especailly which software they used for CC.

this music video is one of my best in RED world. Lighting is awesome and cc is very film like.

ps: yep i heard Yon Tomas before. He has quite a lot of commercials in Turkey and some music videos with top Turkish artists.
