Just wondering if anyone has a problem with Final Cut Pro 6 crashing when exporting a movie to ProRes 2k (thru Quicktime Export, or Compressor). The movie is about 90 minutes and it seems to break down when the output file gets to 20 Gb in size. Tried exporting from Redcode QT sequence as well as Prores sequence and it doesn't seem to make a difference. My current solution for approval purposes, is to output smaller than 2Gb pieces and put them together in QT player. I'm working in 2k and outputting to 2k.

Many Thanks

Brad

Set the timeline to ProRes and render, then export the timeline as it is.

Rendering did help a bit, but didn't solve all the FCP 6.0.5 crashing problems. The render crashes in one particular area of the timeline where there is a link to a 4k ProRes HQ clip that has been scaled up. My workaround is to output the problem clip from the timeline to 2k Prores and lay it back so it doesn't need rendering.

Something is not right. Is it FCP or my system; MacPro 8 core 3Ghz with 18 Gb ram?

Here are the lines from the console log on what happened. I would appreciate any help or suggestions.

sometime mismatch in rendering video quality choice causes to crash.
