If the Red footage is native on your timeline, and I color graded with Nattress G films, do you think this would be good enough for onlining or should I definitely consider using color for my grading. I'm worry about the compression with my 10-bit timeline.

Nattress Render workflow
Native > 10 bit > Online

Color Workflow
Native > 12 bit > 10 bit > Online

Which is better you think? I'm looking at my footage using both workflows and they both look pretty clean.

Its an interesting question.

Perhaps Graeme could tell us his view !

What is your final output?

It's going to digibeta for broadcoast, but most likely to be put on the web to outlets like myspace and youtube

I spent significant time with these workflows,

A. FCP proxy editing>Crimson>REDCINE>FCP>Color
B. FCP proxy editing>Color

B workflow is more direct, but now that I look back, since Color is not covering the whole metadata parameters, I think the A workflow can get better results. What do other people think?
