  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

HDMI Problem with Panasonic TV

Same problem here with my Panasonic 50" TH-50PZ850U (Full 1080P).

After connecting the camera via HDMI to the set, the camera's menus freezes and the camera has to then be re-booted to operate. =(

Guys i think that the Pana over the HDMI it does not accept anything different than DVD Player Blu ray etc...(because of the HDCP protection i think)

yesterday i have connected my 42PZ85U at the Mac Pro , the mac pro recognize the pana ma no signal at All!!!

Would a possible solution be to use HDMI to DVI and then DVI to HDMI or would this still throw up a copy protect issue ? Its not neat by any means but may work, I dont know which pins signal the copy protection or if its with in the data stream.

First can you check if that model supports 720p?

The first question is a little confusing, to me..

I thought the very definition of a HDTV was a TV that could play 720p? (although what constitutes HD is historically ambiguous)

In the UK, if it doesn't support 720p, you can't use the HDready logo, if it does, you can. 1080i/p isn't needed to meet the standard.

Needless to say, all HD Tvs support 720p.

Its the "Fools Gold" standard for TVs, and confusing for average consumers, especially the older ones who haven't heard of Bluray (I've never watched a Bluray film actually..). Then again they tend to have poorer eye sight anyway

Correct me if I'm wrong..
