...BlackHole Josh...

[Rick Darge]

I went to the Catskills area in New York this Christmas break to visit the big family. My 6 year old cousin kept wanting to make a short film. Since I brought the Red, this is what we came up with. We shot it under an hour the day before I left.

[Rick Darge]

Thanks! Yea, it was fun to make and my cousin was overly excited. He can't wait until next year to make another one. I think I might have hooked him..

Hilarious....poor Josh. Funny. Really.

[Leo Ticheli]

Just great!

Good shooting and best regards,

Why are the edges of the image soft in the outdoor footage ? Did you do this in post ?

[Rick Darge]

Yes, that was just a post effect in Color. Trying to separate the dream "blackhole" world from reality.

Looked like fun man. Loved the editing when he jumped into the blackhole, made me laugh. Also was this all shot with the 35mm f~2.

lol. Very cool idea. Well done.

Thanks! Yea, all 35mm f/2 ZF. Love that lens. Really digging all the latitude I have to work with in Color also.

That 35mm is really the all around lens. I just got my set of ZFs on Friday, 35mm, 50mm, 85mm. Other than some focus charts I haven't really tested them out. I was going to give 'em a spin today but the 80-200 was doing the work. I still need to get the 17-35mm Nikon zoom and the 28mm ZF.

Really, really fun ...thanks for sharing

At first I wasn't very impressed, (mostly acting) lol. Then I read your comment and I understand.

Always good to make films for the family

That being said, good job, and I'm glad he liked it!
