I've been trying to apply a tracking point to a secondary color correction in Color, and each time I click "Process" color stops responding.

I'm using the FCP Proxy -> EDL -> Color method, 4K 2:1 RC36, Color settings to RED 2K 2:1 (not 1080p). Computer is Macbook Pro 2.4ghz (I think) with 4GB ram and external 500gb hard drive.

Anyone else having this problem?

trying to track the eyes of talent on a medium/cu shot handheld, so it's not tiny, but not huge either. for this project I can live without the travelling secondary matte, but I may try the same clip with the L&T re-wrapped redcode quicktimes and see if that fixes that issue at all. Shouldn't but it's worth a shot.

My experiences with the tracker in Color are not very promising, even if it didn't crash on me. I tend to use manual keyframes in Color or use Shake for more demading tasks.

If you go to manual track - DON'T click outside the frame as the points aren't recorded and there is no warning. I've wasted many hours circumventing holes in Color's user interface.

Is it an option to do this secondary in AE and finish the grade in Color?
You might get to the end result quicker.
