Two questions on my first post. You guys are a great resource.

1)As an editor I prefer to have my clips in FCP have the Scene and Take number, not the long code that the RedCamera spits out as its file names.
So, is it a problem in the workflow to change those clip names since those files are still connected to the original RED raw files? I'm not talking about changing the proxy or Red ref file, but just the clips that you get when you drag a proxy into Final Cut.
I want to make sure that down the line with XML and all that it wont get screwed up.

2)Also, I have been manually syncing my clips using merge clip, will this cause any problems down the line with the workflow? Or just anything I should be aware of?

Sub clips definitely stop XML and they load the entire shot instead of the Edit.

I have not tested Merged Clips, You've given me an idea!

Re-naming clips in the FCP Browser and not outside in Raw folders is A-OK! That is the only way to work offline/online. Remember to put the original File Name in One of the columns Log Note, Comment, etc...
