  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Hey folks, here is a Sundance-YouTube short I shot with my Zeiss ZF glass

Thanks for the feedback guys...I notice my stills I posted look awfully compressed, I need to figure a better method for sharing frame grabs, anyone know the preferred method for posting stills?

Anyways, I dont know that we mad the cut for the competition :( but they officially announce the finalist tomorrow so who knows?!

Hey Spike, to reply to your comment above in regards to your 17-35...have you tried adjusting the back mount to this lens?

I haven't tried yet but I'm thinking I will do that and probably will have to mark the adjustment for the zoom and for the primes so I can make the adjustment on the fly. I originally set it with the 50mm and all the primes are tack sharp.

I remember someone pointed to a link where it was explained how to do it yourself... Do you know the link richard by chance?

Also where could you find these rings? Anyone has an address?

I own a couple of fine contax Zeiss lens like the legendary 21mm, and some Leica Summilux, Canon L and Carl Zeiss Hasselblad lens... Considering the actual economic situation and the fact im not especially doing much commercial shoot, i made the choice to keep my lenses , wai for a dump canon mount and try to shoot with that for now...

I remember some people said it was not always a good idea to declick your lens.. What do you guys think?

Merci

Just so you guys know, Peter Sensor and Duclos use the same style of Delron rings, same 80mm fronts too. I believe they are roughly the same price. If you want to save a few bucks, you can easily de-click your ZF lenses yourself. Just unscrew the back cap and the little ball bearing should slip out.

Nice work Clayton,
Very nice feel to it. Love the night for night with the foggy silhouettes.
Happy to hear the ZF's are working well for you ... all the best, keep rockin.

Thanks for the feedback guys, the director got a notice that we were disqualified for dropping the F bomb in the script!!!!! ONE F%^*ing word changed everything...ahhh what a great lesson. I was a little disturbed at 1st but quickly got over it as the director was very satisfied about the project considering we did it in just a couple of days...I still wanted to strangle someone! Ok thats a little extreme. I am proud of the crew....there is always a next time.

I am in LA now, kicking it in hollywood...was invited to RED day so I thought I might as well take the opportunity, this town is insane! To make matters more interesting I flew on same airline just after the flight that landed in the Hudson RIVER from NYC!

See you RED folk tomorrow bright and early...wonder how long it takes to get from west hollywood to RED facility by 9am?
