  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

What's the best workflow for a feature on FCP?

The computer being used won't be able to handle realtime playback of proxies or Redcode Native files. I figured that rendering 1k Med proxies out of compressor and then importing into FCP would be the best for an offline edit. I figured after that, I would replace the rendered proxies with Redcode Native files for CC and rendering in Color for a final 2k export, probably in prores.

Does anyone know of a faster, better solution that works with a Macbook pro? As far as replacing the Proxies with the Redcode native files, what would be the best program/route for this?

thanks

It's not up to me. I'm not editing it. I can only suggest the best workflow.

Personally, I would use RedRushes to transcode to 1K ProRes instead of using Compressor to do it from the M Proxies.

You can then use Clipfinder to do a 'neg pull' from your finished cut XML, Log and Transfer just the 'neg pulled' files to wrapped QT Redcode Native files and reconnect from the 1K ProRes to the wrapped QT Native files.
