  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

this was an issue and mildly irritating.

has anyone else cussed over this?

I have worked with RED ONE a bunch of times now and have to point out an issue with the REC button.....we were working with kids on my last shoot and as we all know that you have to have your finger on the trigger, ready to go..
maybe it's just me, but when looking thru the EVF or at the LCD display, you can't easily find the REC button on the side of the camera....it was kind of annoying in the past, but on this particular shoot we were outdoors with a rain cover on the camera. A few times I REALLY was searching for the trigger under the cover.....this would also be a problem on a darkened set...

So......how about you guys make the REC button with some sort of braille-type raised bump or RED NIPPLE, if you will. Only on the REC button so you can fire the camera blindfolded.

all in favor of a RED button with a RED nipple.....say aye!

oh....other than that, the camera has always worked flawlessly.

regards,

Eric

we used to have a raised record button on the side way back in the day.. but everyone complained that they accidently bumped it so we made it flat :)

Purchase a View Factor Origo.

It's relatively cheap and works like a charm.

Mount it wherever you like.

Personally, I'm not crazy about the placement of the buttons; too easy to hit by mistake; looks like the new designs, Epic & Scarlet, and much better.

Good shooting and best regards,

Leo

Jarred, wow, really?

what camera body was the last to have them?

accidentally bumping the button? the buttons needed a bit of pressure to trigger the camera.

To me, running your hand over the left side of the camera body searching for the REC button, accidentally bumping the other buttons would be more hazardous, depending upon what they were assigned to do.

I guess I will have to ask my AC to somehow apply a piece of camera tape or something to easily ID the button in the dark.

you can buy little rubber dots they use to protect furniture with if you want a little bump....
