  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Third Anniversary...

Wow, it's hard to believe that a lot of us (from the learners like me and the working pros) have been discussing RED for a few years now...hard to believe what's been accomplished only a few years. Happy Anniversary!

Martin--tell us more...Ted, [is this Jarred?], and Mike "where have you been since moving to LA" Curtis.

Just for curiosity: was Red founded in 1999?

Has it always been your vision for it to be an awesome digital camera company?

Thanks Jim and team for something truly incredible. I'll throw another shrimp on the barbie for you. Merry Christmas to all.

Congrats!

Congrats!

We are all very lucky to be involved with this amazing camera, and I am looking forward to a bright future!
Cheers!!!

Congratulations and best wishes for the holidays and the new year.
What an amazing achievement for so short a time span.
From another future RED owner.

One day, perhaps not too far away, a technical Oscar might be a nice little peripheral thing, and time to light a cigar.

...not many believed we could (or should) do this.

And way back then in 2005 I was one of those few who believed you could and should do it...and since then you have turned your dream into a reality, for you and for us.

Jim, just prop your feet up and torch a nice big fat Cohiba - and enjoy it!.

It's been a long 3-year road, but I'm sure in spite of the bumps in it, if given a chance you would do it again the same way.

Sincerely - Happy 3rd Anniversary RED.

Congratulations! So much achieved in just three years.

I remember when all the vaporware talk was about and I read the names in the team and made the decision right then and there to believe. One of my better decisions.

Hi Jim,

So glad that you took ‘the decision’ that day…and that I have had the chance to follow this incredible journey … and to benefit from the result … and be part of it all, after stumbling across your site in the early days.

Congratulations RED TEAM! Happy 3rd Anniversay!

The future promises to be even more exciting!

That's a great story for the Holidays. Thanks! I honestly think nothing would get done in this world if people had any idea what they were getting themselves into when they set out to create or invent something new or build something great.

My Father is one of those people that can always see everything ahead, estimate out all the costs of any venture and he is always within minutes or pennies of his estimate. I am always telling him that if everyone could forecast costs and time like he can, no one would ever do anything and very little would get done. He's taken some big risks of his own and built some great things which has always inspired me because I know he knew what he was getting himself into before he ever started. With me, I typically have no clue....and....I like it that way. I'm not so sure I would have done many of the things I've done if I could have seen the full cost (money, time, blood, sweat and tears) ahead of time. I hope I would have though!

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to the Red User community. Thanks for allowing me to be a part of such a great network of intelligent, hard-working, creative people.

Sincerely,

I remember when I first found out about RED, I couldn't believe it, but my first reaction was "oh, wow... when/where/how much?!" and then some of my friends said they were skeptical. I though that was ridiculous. I never thought "if." Thanks for dreaming big, Jim & Co!

Happy Holidays, all!

Where was your Dad when I started this thing? :-)

Jim

You guys remind me of The Lord of the Rings.

You and Ted are like Frodo and Sam, venturing off on an impossible journey.

And then comes the Fellowship.

I say Graeme is Gandalf and Jarred is Legolas. I don't really know the rest well enough to know who they would be. :)

Jim and all at RED,

Thanks for giving us this great technology that enabled me set up a whole new business in these uncertain times. I remembered lugging my Sony XDCAM to NAB2007, sneaked into the show floor, sold it and placed an order for 3 Red One the same day.

Wishing all in RED a Merry Happy Christmas and a Happy New Year - albeit a very challenging one.
