We are coming up to the 3rd anniversary of "the decision". It was right about now, 3 years ago, that the decision was made to begin work on the RED ONE with "no turning back allowed".

At that time, it was only Ted and I. We had no industrial design, no electronics, no sensor and not many believed we could (or should) do this.

For this moment, I fall back on one of my favorite thoughts... "we were just too dumb to know what not to do".

Enter Matt, Graeme, Jarred, Brian, Kelly, Ryan, Brent... then Deanan, Rob and the rest of the RED troops. It seems like yesterday and yet a hundred years ago.

Thanks to all of you for believing in RED and contributing to the ongoing progress.

My best to all for the holidays.

Jim

Ahhhh, makes me think of the first time I looked up red.com, must be coming on Three years ago now. one splash page. a logo. and yet so much intrigue it just had to be real! I was a believer from that moment onward!

Many congratulations and all you've accomplished so far!

(glad to see some Canucks on your team in the right places! and from the get go!!)

Thanks Jim! It's been a ride. A wild ride. A great ride. And it's only just began!

Happy holidays to you all!

Thats funny.

It was precisely now that I was thinking about RED origins. I just saw the pics showing the first RED (wooden) box, the first Frankie... and I was wondering if anyone knows where's the first thread announcing the RED One project because I first knew about RED only a few months before Boris and Natasha were ready and it would be interesting to know how it was like in the beginning.

Thanks to Jim and Red for the future of cameras.

It has been an amazing ride Jim. You have taken us down the rabbit hole and I'm hanging on to my ruby slippers for all they're worth.

Happy Holidays to you and family.
