Howdy all,

Just got the Long Valley LWS. Works great. A really good solution to hand held with compact zoom or prime.

Here is my camera with an Ekran/Elite 25-80 compact zoom. Feels great on the shoulder.

I made it. It clamps on the 15mm rods very much like the aaton hand grip mount. One side is an after market AR-15 pistol grip, the other side is an ARRI SR handgrip with the built in zoom control. We modified the switch to be momentary instead of continuous. It's pretty simmilar to an Aaton set up. I'm sure Mitch at Abel could hook you up with something just about the same.

I've tried an Aaton handgrip on the RED using 15mmLWS rods and it was great. I think there's nothing better than Aaton's perfectly ergonomic walnut handgrip. We can mod the switch to momentary and we have the replacement cable for triggering the RED. We pair this with our Universal 19-15 adapter but if you go with 15mm LWS then you don't even need this. We can sell you a new handgrip or modify yours.

As I said before, Doug's rod mount plus our Aaton handgrip and the Arri MMB-1 mattebox and MFF-1 followfocus makes for a terrific compact & lightweight kit.
