I was wandering if it's possible to hire a Birger mount in January 2009 for a feature to be shot in Melbourne, Australia?

ha, ha, ha, ho, ho, ho......
oh..... your serious?

Wouldn't bet on it....... (sorry, cynicism at an all time high regarding the mount)

unless Lemac somehow got in as a beta tester...???

good luck!
:whistling:

Letter to Santa

Hi Chris,

Was a little bit surprised by your answer, WOW, this is a serious professional forum, with real names... then said to myself: maaan, just relax, be kool, it's the silly season... ho ho ho ... a bit of Aussie banter, Santa is still coming, but without a Birger mount.... I was a naughty boy...

If I don't get a Birger mount by Christmas, Santa, at least should give me in exchange, the phone numbers of all the naughty girls from his list...
Should we start a poll on this topic?

Getting back to business: xQuse my french and ignorance, what's a lemac?
Just joking...

Cheers, be merry, and a happy new year!
I am still working on it.

Hi Chris,

Was a little bit surprised by your answer
heh, heh.. if you've spent ANY time looking at the Birger Lens thread... longest running thread in history perhaps... you'd understand the response... and still we see no mounts.
Yes, I'm in the cue, purportedly somewhere around the 50-60th in line... We ordered a loooonnnggg time ago, nothing but daylight.....!
An interesting development today that might push things along, and give you another option, is ALesniaks mount has been given a form of approval by Jarred.. so that might be available first?
Who knows. I do hope you get a solution for your shoot though!

best, and merry xmas
Chris

oh, and if anyone seriously doesn't know... LEMAC

... and the latest drama occurring overnight is that, if & when Birger mounts start shipping, that if certified "Birger Agent" (or Erik himself), doesn't do the install, it voids the Red One warranty, the upgrade path to Epic, and any other freebies or goodies you thought you might have gotten from RED.

... and I thought I didn't "watch" any soap dramas... the Birger thread has it all.
Time to take a few weeks off over Xmas and hope some sanity prevails by the time I come back....

Skirting back over some older posts... thought it worthy of an update...

Our Birger mount arrived unexpectedly a few weeks ago (minus the Bluetooth Impero controller.. still waiting).

Took about 30 minutes or so to fit, just taking it slowly.. (and yes, I have my Birger certification for swapping the mount).

It's great to be able to throw a whole bunch of different lenses on the camera straight from our cupboard..
from an 8mm Sigma fisheye, through a wide range of Canon zooms.
I have a 24-70mm f 2.8 L series as the "standard" lens with the camera now, and the images look pretty good compared to what I've been getting off the 18-50 Red.
No i-data yet though... still in the waiting line for the audio/i-pin upgrade.

Chris
