I am on a job and we shot all morning on the RED drive. Everything ran great. Footage played back in camera was a fine. No problems. The drive was taken to be down loaded and the tech said it would not mount. Had to reboot his computer a number of times. The computer was powering the two back up drive and the RED drive off the Mac bus power which was powered by an inverter in a mini van. (is this okay way to power all this?) Since it didn't mount the drive was put back on the camera to check and on the lower left of the LCD is said "unformatted". What does this mean? He was still unable to get the footage off the drive. When I asked to go AC power and try the firewire 400 the drive mounted and there was one file. A log type file. What does all this mean? Is the footage retrievable? Gone? What do you suggest? Once it was mount the cpmpacity of the drive said 5.5mb but the tech as early said it showed around 30gb used.
Confused and unsure of what has happen. The entire time we were shooting the camera was in 3K, 2:1, Time Base 23.98, various frame rates.
I appreciate any help you can give me. Thanks. Right now I think the drive is going to RED.
