deleting files off cf card

few questions:

1. can i delete a clip on the cf card without reformatting the drive directly in the camera?

2. am i correct to think that adjusting my gamma on the camera is just metadata and is NOT changing my final raw file.

1. you can but it has been advised to do so on camera - can't recall why
2. yes - only things not meta are iris and shutter

As far as i know you can't delete a clip in the camera.

In the current versions of the firmware it is indeed not possible to delete individual clips off the CF card (or the harddrive, for that matter.)

There's been some discussion as to the benefits/dangers of having that option.

Small crews/one man shows would prefer such an option, bigger productions are terrified of having such a possibility.
