Would someone please chime in on what would be an organized way to keep a large project organized or direct me to a good location for the answer?

* I have 1.25 TB from 16 locations transcoded to edit on Media Composer.*

I started making 16 bins, one to represent each location. Should I have left the One bin and made 16 folders instead?

How about using the Superbin? Is that a more organized way?

I'm a very organized person, so I would like to start my project off right (Developing good habits). In the end it would be nice to have every sequence represent a scene.

Then lay each sequence out in order, for the movie.

I appreciate your input.

I like to keep a bin to match each of my sources - if tape, then I have a bin called 001, for tape 001, etc, In that bin, I take take all the clips and make a sequence - "my virtual tape". Then I move my master clips to other bins named Scenes 1 -10, etc. or however you want to organize.

In a file based world - I would have a folder of the date, then in there, bins for each camera from that day, etc. I would still make the one sequence per bin for archive retrieval reasons - mainly the ability to recreate a master clip in case I delete it by mistake.

Sequences are up to you - I end to leave a sequence for scenes 1-10 in the same bin, but have other bins that are named reels which is the combination of scenes, etc.

Many ways to the skin the cat.
