Hey all-

I know that I'm really excited about the release of "Che" (coming this weekend in NY and LA), not only because it was shot on RED, I've also heard amazing things about it.

Thought that it would be fun if NY Redusers went out to the movie this weekend on Saturday, the 13th. The movie is being released as it's 4-hour whole for a week so it can be considered for awards, then is closing and re-opening again in January. I, for one, would love to see this movie in it's full form. You get a "collectors edition" program and ther'll be an intermission an everything.

Perhaps NY Redusers could all conglomerate on Saturday night, the 13th, at the 7pm Zeigfield showing. If people wanted to before, we could go out before and grab some dinner and meet each other in person. I'll be there. Anyone else want to come?

Don't know if I'll be able to make dinner beforehand, but I'd love to go watch the movie at 7pm. I love the Zeigfield theater on 54th.

Are people just buying the tickets at the box office that night?

I will be there at the 1P.M. showing. Can't wait.

I saw it at IFC last week at a SAG screening or else I'd join you guys. I was very happy with the image quality. I had to force myself to pay attention to the way it looked most of the time, which is a good thing. Both parts were very well done.

Would it be worth a three and a half hour car ride? I'm tempted. Good food and an after party could be enough to seal the deal.

As much as It'd be great to meet you, I'm not sure if there's an afterparty... unless milkshakes at the burger joint on 57th are your idea of an afterparty...

Damn. I'm flying out of the country on Saturday afternoon. Otherwise, I'd be there for sure. Still might try to hit the Ziegfeld tomorrow night, though. It's a wonderful theater, and I can't wait to see 'Che.'

Although, looks like Mamoru Oshii's new film is screening for a single evening at the Walter Reade tomorrow, so I might hit that instead. Decisions, decisions.

Although very pricey, Victor's Cafe (52nd b/w 8th & Bway) is out of this world. Maybe not the place for tomorrow's get-together, but keep it in mind for any special occasions that warrant incredible Cuban fare. As for tomorrow, I'd be satisfied settling in someplace that makes a good mojito, before or after.

As to whether a trip to Burger Joint constitutes a bona fide after party, I believe it does. Worth a three-hour drive? Depends... How much is gas these days?

Hope to see you all out tomorrow...
