Well, these are shots from our first time out with our Red "Stormbringer" I love how wonderful the camera is, easy to use. The tech really get out of the ways and allows you to concentrate on getting your best shot.

Thought I'd share some stills as we muddle through post.

Really like the look of the first frame, beautiful. Makes me think of old technicolor :)
The third from top has a lovely magical colors in the background.
I find some a bit soft; was it shot in 2K ?
Thanks for sharing David.

No, this was shot 4k hd, Nikon lenses on the Red Nikon mount. By softness, you mean the focus, right? I'm just checking cause I'm not 100% satisfied with it myself and I have to talk to the director about our DP.

Looks to me like that softness is just motion blur. Look at her arm.

These are also highly compressed JPEGs. That fact alone will introduce a lot of overall softness in the picture. Try posting some that are less compressed...

Hey good stuff. Look forward to seeing more stills from this production. I've just switched out the Nikon mount to put the RED lens on. But then I realized I had an older 85mm 1.4 kicking around that I'm keen to slap on the RED and test out.

How are you finding the work flow in post with 4K?

cheers,
Luc

So far so good on the post side. I'm still pretty new to the high end tools, so what seems really hard to others is actually a step up from how I'm used to working. (I really want to get to a place where I can complain about how bad it is.:shifty: )

Most of my problems in post are with audio and syncing at this point, and we're working on getting that figured out.

Honestly, I'm having too much fun to have many complaints. :)
