Tonight, TNT's new 1 hour episodic drama, "Leverage" premieres, starring Timothy Hutton. It centers around a group of x-cons who have come together and are fighting for the average Joe against corrupt corporations, etc.

[edit: updated information re: pilot episode]

The pilot was shot mostly on Panavision Genesis cameras (tonights episode), but the show, once picked up, switched formats and now shoots mainly on RED ONE Cameras (David Connell, DP).

Here is a good article with an interview with Producer/Director Dean Devlin:

Online, you can also view a behind the scenes video which has cast and crew interviews, clips from the upcoming episodes, as well as shots of the RED ONE in action.

The first show airs tonight at 10pm pacific.
(New episodes (shot on RED) will be Tuesdays at 10pm)

I feel like I read that the pilot was shot on Genesis but the rest of the series is shot primarily on Red. There is also some prosumer camera stuff throw in too.

I just found the article. It's DV.com:

"Actually, our pilot was shot by David Connell with the Genesis, and then we moved to the RED for the series. We’re using a combination of cameras on the show. The RED is our main camera, the second camera is the Sony PMW-EX1 and the third is the Sony Z1U." -Dean Devlin

Sorry, not trying to contradict or anything. Just want to make sure people know what they're looking at. Thanks for the heads up.

I believe The Librarian, which followed Leverage, was also shot on Red. The footage looks like the what Kevin Stanley and Michael Cioni were using to demo Red workflow at NAB.
Could be wrong but I believe I recognized the stairway at the library and the bar scene.

Thanks for the update re: the Pilot shooting on Genesis. I will update my original post.

You are correct, Frank. The footage that Kevin and I (and my partner Steve Beres) demonstrated with the Apple Color workflow was donated from Electric Entertainment from The Librarian.
Good eye & good memory!

Youve got Colonel Smith, and the Tech guy is a new Murdok and the girl is Face, I dont know see a BA though

Unfortunately, for us Canadian viewers, we're out of luck on this one.

I just watched the pilot (shot on Genesis) and the first episode (shot on RED) back to back.

Gotta say: the RED episode definitely looks better. Sharper image. Warmer color.

Good goin', RED.
