  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Transcoding/Editing Options for 5D2....

Yeah...good idea on the iris lever. It would also be good to take out the ball bearings on the iris to allow it to change without the "bumps" ... so that you could very slowly change exposure.

I am going up the CA coast shortly to try out some 5D2 stuff...a little place up from Malibu overlooking the Channel Islands ...shoot a sunset, moonset, etc and drink some wine. My idea of a Saturday night party.

I'm looking forward to seeing some of those shots, Larry.

Here is a little video I threw together from the test shoot yesterday with the Sigma lens at Huntington Beach.

Excuse the horrendous cameraman skills. :)

A 1080p download link is available at that vimeo page.

Very nice Tom.

This Vimeo video is on 30" Apple Cinema Display at a full screen size wide 2560 even "acceptable".

Haha... I wouldn't try to push it past 1080p!

Hey Tom I'll try to watch that on my screens here. I've downloaded the original file.
Dang, makes me want to go surfing. Looks good on my laptop monitor. Thanks!

Liked the video Tom.
the shot with a couple taking photos of their dog is great. There is something about it..
Cheers

one of the great things about the 5DII is that with one tiny battery and two CF cards (one 8GB x233 and one $50 Ridata 16GB x233), I was able to shoot for HOURS with no worries. i basically just left the thing recording for like two hours, which is how i happened to get that dog catching the frisbie.

one thing i notice now is that when i'm out in town doing stuff or out for a run or something, i keep seeing these really cool little scenes that i would love to be able to shoot really quickly on the run. i might start carrying the 5D around with me more, with a mini tripod or something, just to grab really unique stuff that pops up in day to day life.
