i was looking at the latest (lens) specs and saw that the only lens that will be compatible with the FF35 scarlet are the zooms......unless im wrong, is red only going to make zooms (and not primes) for the scarlet FF35?

I doubt that. Where did you get that info? The FF35 scarlet will be compatible with a wide range of lenses. Not all the lenses will fill the full frame though.

hopefully red does make primes.....all im asking is for a high speed prime lens that fills the frame (sensor)...

Would be something, if the Red PL primes were made to cover FF35.

FYI, I noticed while shooting video FF35 1080p on my 5D2 that the Canon EF 24mm f/1.4 L breathes like crazy. Like, massive breathing. It would basically be unusable for focusing on the fly with cinema applications.

The FF35 lens issue is going to take a lot of sorting out.

Would this be the Mk1 or Mk2 variant of the 24/1.4 ?

Remember that with bigger pixel wells, we sample the lens' image with less resolution, so all lenses will appear sharper, zooms included. T2.9 might be a killer though...

so what are peoples thoughts as far as the S35 vs. FF35.....is the S35 going to more adaptable with more lenses? and thus a better choice......i know that the same issues exist with the Epics.

I agree.

Most still lenses breathe horribly, focus the 'wrong' way, have a stiff helical with a short throw, aren't color-matched or ruggedized...

...but hey, compared to Cooke S4s they are cheap as chips.
