I am having an issue with exporting edl from Final Cut, i dont know if anyone else has ever had this problem. (Basically I am wanting to use the current remasters new function using the EDL filter etc)

Error from Final Cut when i want to export my edit to EDL:

"The media files of one or more clips are missing reel names and may also be missing time code tracks. Proceeding with the export will result in an EDL that cannot capture or reconnect to all of the media used"

Using the default EDL settings I get this error, I have tried changing several settings and I get the same error

Does anyone have any idea?

Thanks
Christine

Do you have any non Red media in your timeline? Graphics or music from CD would give this kind of error.

If the EDL is just being used to filter the files in ReMaster, the reel names and time code tracks are not used. The EDL that FCP creates renames all the pieces, and then adds information fields which associate its names with the original files. The filter just looks for the file names to be present.

I am using express cineform files. With no added filters or text or anything. Just the express files, I will have another look this morning and see if I get anywhere

Thanks

Just have done a quick test, I imported one clip into FCP, (express) and tried exporting as an EDL and gives the same error, I don't understand what the problem is

I have sorted the problem, I exported an express file from the new remaster and used that clip to export the EDL, now theres no problem

Thanks very much
Christine

Ok, having another problem, I am now wanting to run the conform using the EDL filter, following the steps on "Cineform Neo 4K update" post, and when I click on convert Remaster freezes,

Here is what I am doing:
Open Remaster
Select my full res clip
Click on Edit - Filter with EDL
Then convert
Then it freezes

Did I maybe miss understand something or skipping a step or two

Thanks so much

After the clips have been filtered, double check the conversion parameters. I found that the size change panel does not restore its values correctly and is passing a bad size to the spatial resample module. Under "Processing" make sure the "Match Image Size" is checked for output frame size.
