Is it possible to have the option of a Nikon mount on a 2/3" Scarlet---I'm assuming that the smaller sensor will create a greater Field of View and magnification ratio with the use of a 35mm telephoto----which is exactly what I want to get greater reach for wildlife. Or is the S35 the only option for having the Nikon Mount (based on the spec sheet from the Nov. 13 announcement)--which I will then need to use in windowed-mode to achieve a greater mag. ratio?

Would be nice to confirm it from RED TEAM!!!!!! ( I remember that Jim has a post about this, but couldnt find..)

I'm pretty sure, too, that Jim said that the PL and Canon and Nikon mounts will fit on the 2/3 Scarlet. And, yes, your 35mm tele lenses become LONG tele lenses on 2/3".

On any other cam, going from 35mm to 2/3" would be kind of like using "digital zoom", but at 3K it will be spectacular.

I dont think so.... digital zoom???? Could U explain it?

This Nikon lens is f..ing high quality (talking about 80-200/2.8 zoom lens, FX format) It can be use for D3 or film camera.....
Scarlet is gonna only be using the very center of the lens, it is fact, but stil OPTICAL, not digital zoom.

sounds like a great set up for me ,shooting surfers at a distance . mount up my 300 canon is and wow sniper zoom . love it? just how much more length is going to be?

What kind of canon? ( I mean which format? DX or full frame(FX)?)

If they made an EF-S mount would say a 10-22 lens help get back a little wide angle?

I believe it would be 2.5x magnification ratio. A 1/3" sensor with a 35mm lens is 7.2x. 1/2" sensor is 5.5x and 2/3" is 3.9x I believe. That sweet 80-200 Nikkor AF-D will be a 200-500. And with a 1.4x teleconverter even better for wildlife---280-700 with only one stop loss.

see this: http://reduser.net/forum/showthread.php?t=23184

it cleared up a lot of my confusion on the mounts & options

It says 35mm for the 2/3" Scarlet brain----I'm assuming that means their Nikon/Canon interchangeable mount? That would be awesome. Tell me I'm reading it correctly.

If the 2/3" can take the Nikon mount---that is huge. I'm a good case study as I was so close to buying the Sony XDCAM EX3 for slow-mo. Problem is their 60fps is only 720p. Red can be 120fps at 3K! plus the S35 could be 2K at 72fps! Big difference. I'll buy a Scarlet instead if the Nikon 35mm mount works. Can Big John/Red Team confirm? Tks.

If the 2/3" takes the nikon mount (which is looks like it does) than I'm on board for a s35 Scarlet and a 2/3" no lens scarlet. Day one. Of course, the s35 will ship first, so goody for that!

Does anyone know offhand what the conversion would be using the Canon efs lenses for their smaller sensor slrs?
