Althoug I reported few issues, overall, to be able to go back to RAW (RED ROOM) and directly getting into Primary and especially Secondary is quite an experience for me, so just has to share this everyone.

I was working on a trailer for this shot-on-RED feature movie called "Highkick Girl". It was shot on RED in 2K mostly because of high speed action, and mostly super 16mm lenses to match 2K. It went mostly without much lighting, so I had to fight with bringing out the casts but not making the whole picture look too dark nor noisy.

It is fabulous to be able to determine ISO depending on the shot while grading. I never was able to do this as well as now with the ISO selection, to get proper skin tone and the gradation, while keeping the dark areas not too noisy from bringing the ISO up, by going into the secondary and lock the dark area, then adjust the gamma or gain to hide the noises.

I really want to thank RED and Apple for the hard work, please continue to improve on more robust possibilities conjunction with RED metadata and support for resolution independent feature on FCS apps.

Today, I had to do some fix on the edit on the project I was working since the director wanted to swap some of the clips, then I had to quickly choose the finished timeline with uncompressed 8bit timeline, then add some wrapped QT R3D files with the edit, it went really well, then later I had to grade it so I tried to send the timeline to the Color and the nightmare began. It crashed then after that, Color never boot up. I've been looking for the preference to throw away, but I couldn't find it. Anyone knows off hand where the Color preference is?

Thanks so much, that worked.

Are you able to render your clips and send them back to FCP??
This did not work for me.

I tried with various QT and basically worked, ProRes works the best (except DPX, DPX should always work fine). I did have some repeat/jump or gamma issues on some formats.
