we all glad here about you one of first 5dmk2 shooters.. we hope you don't mind to post some good footage.. ok you're a red fanboy too.. maybe this may bring some advantages.. a red fanboy best $2700 piece of gear owner nowadays.. :umm: bring it to us!

You Dog's! I ordered mine from Ritz camera. Being A NY'er Adorama, B&H, and JR all would have cost more. I can't wait for mine too!

Thanks for the tip browning, with your tipoff I managed to get an order in and if all holds will get it tomorrow afternoon. Hopefully I can get some time to shoot some RED footage with my canon lenses on Birger and some equivalent with 5D.

As I've mentioned in another thread, I don't look at my 5D purchase as an instead of Scarlet purchase - I see it as a way to upgrade my 40D and my Sony FX7 as my family/budget/easier to carry around video solution into an all in one compact solution that gives me pretty good video and great stills with my Canon glass - until an equivalent/better RED actually ships (probably 6-9 months for a Canon lens mount version) and I will then sell the 5D and take the $900 hit and chalk it up as basically a 6-9 month rental - with some tax benefits this year.

Son of a bitch!!! I stepped out for like 20 minutes and missed the FedEx guy.... now I have to wait until 6:30pm to pick it up.

that sucks...mine arrived this morning, but no time to play.

My Digital Vista Vision camera has arrived!

Man, this camera is a marvel. To think, all that imaging power in a little 3lb camera with no real moving parts, shooting to CF cards. Unreal.

Congrats, Tom. I'm still waiting for mine. Shoot with it ASAP and please, post away with your findings!!!

The video looks quite nice on my 24" at 1080p. I'm planning a trip soon to really see what this baby is capable of.

The camera has an interesting feature to help you focus manually in video/live view mode. You can move a little frame around with a joystick and then hit zoom twice. This gives you a magnified but super clear 3" view of the scene and allows you to pull focus with amazing accuracy.

Doing it on the fly or on a steadicam might be another story, though. :)
