Red Bar below Time Line & Corrupt Files

When playing back some of today's footage, I have a Error Message "can not play back clip #) plus there is a red bar directly below the time-line.

I'm playing it back from the camera. Recording onto an 8 GB CF.

Can't find anything in the manual (printed man. doesn't have an index.) Could this be a formatting issue?

I have just reformatted the CF card, and the red box/bar is still there. In each corner there are small arrows. I can't find any information about this.

Check menu 'Video', 'Assists' and see if the Assists box is checked and Focus Overlay is active.
